Though no one knows exactly where the game of chess was invented, a few scholars assert that the game as begun, or at least enjoyed by the ancient Greeks and Romans. One popular legend suggests that Alexander the Great brought the game to both Persia and India. Grecians are known to have played games similar to chess in skill and logic. Called Petteia or Pesseia, the games were brought to the people during the conquest of Alexander in the East.
