Did You Know: Chinese Warrior Exhibit
The High Museum of Art in Atlanta, GA recently (November 16, 2008) opened an exhibit called The First Emperor: China's Terracotta Army. It features 20 statues and dozens of other artifacts found in the tomb of an ancient Chinese emperor. While the statues are part of a traveling exhibit, over 90,000 tickets (record breaking!) were sold within 3 days.
Chess Tidbit:
Chinese Emperor Wen-ti executed two foreign chess payers after learning that one of the pieces was called 'Emperor.' He was upset that his title was associated with a game and forbade it from being played.
