The magnetic system is operate by using everlasting multi-super magnets. There is basically no maintenance other than a few cleans ever so often. Don't worry about locking your pet in or out because the Magnetic Pet Door provides access to your pet only limited by you! The system functions with a small magnet attached to your pet's collar. This magnet will active the multi-magnets that open the latch to grant your pet entry or exit through the cat door. Once your feline has entered, the system will automatically close the latch.
